Dal Segno was founded by Sarah Sng, a passionate music educator in Singapore, alongside Daryl Saw, a seasoned events expert and F&B business owner. Together, they’ve created a unique space where music, education, and events harmonize.
Meet Sarah – From Keys to Classroom
Sarah’s musical path began with the piano and grew to include percussion and keyboard ensemble work. As a band member in the early 2000s, she learned the value of rhythm and collaboration—two elements she brings into every workshop.
Daryl’s Passion for Events and Wine
With over 20 years in the F&B and event industry, Daryl offers logistics, creativity, and a flair for hospitality. He also leads wine education and cocktail workshops, enhancing Dal Segno’s music-based events.
Why the Name “Dal Segno”?
“Dal Segno” combines their initials, D and S, but also means “from the sign” in Italian music. It symbolizes their return to purpose: to inspire through music and create lasting experiences in Singapore.

Our Story
Dal Segno Music & Events is the brainchild of Sarah Sng, an experienced music educator with a unique passion for making music fun and accessible to kids of all ages from 1 to 92. Sarah’s playful and engaging personality drives the Dal Segno brand. Dal Segno, which means to play “from the sign” in Italian musical terms, indeed aims to be that pivotal sign that points you towards a joyous, enriching and rewarding musical journey.
Collaborating with Sarah in this venture is her partner Daryl Saw, who brings with him vast experience in business management, event organizing, and music education as well.
Oh, and in case you haven’t already noticed, the name Dal Segno matches the initials of Daryl and Sarah. Just saying…
Meet Our Founders
Sarah Sng
Sarah knew from a very young age that music was her core calling, a passion which led her to pursue her Trinity College Grade 8 Piano and Bachelors in Music Education and Psychology in 2017. She has also invested heavily in equipping herself with additional knowledge in the Orff Methods from Orff-Schlwerk Association of Singapore, songwriting lessons at Thunder Rock School and Awaken Generation. Juggling her main career in nursing and her pursuit of music, Sarah has been teaching part time in a number of music schools since 2018, before deciding to launch her own institution Dal Segno Music & Events in 2024. With this business, Sarah aims to share the joys of music by creating a vibrant space for and a vivacious community of music afficionados in Singapore.
Daryl Saw
Daryl first started learning to play the piano at 4 years old, and went through classical music training until his late teens. He then realized that his true passion was not in Bach or Beethoven but in Christian praise & worship and contemporary pop songs. In 2010, taking a career break from his F&B business, Daryl ventured into music education and has over the years developed his own unique approach to piano teaching that strikes a balance between theoretical knowledge, aural skills and the ability to ‘commusicate’ feelings and emotions through an instrument. Today, Daryl is a full-time wine and spirits educator with The Beverage Clique Academy, and continues to teach piano and perform at weddings, funerals and other events whenever his schedule permits.
